Color Therapy
Color Therapy is a technique of using colors and light to restore physical, emotional,
mental, and spiritual imbalances in the body. Colors are forms of light energy-
they have different vibrational frequencies and wavelengths, and therefore have
different qualities and impact on the body, mind, and spirit. The most common
way to practice Color Therapy is to project the appropriate color to an imbalanced
body part. As with any other form of energy, the body and aura absorb the color
energy and react.
Color Therapy is closely related to Chakra Healing, which was developed by the
yogis in India more than 3,500 years ago. The Chakras are the energy centers
in the body, where each of the seven main Chakras is associated with a particular
physiological gland, body system, and color. The Chakras’ function is to nourish
and balance the human body, mind, and spirit. Color Therapy has been a popular
healing method since ancient times. There is evidence that Pythagoras applied
color light therapeutically, and that “Color Halls” were used for healing in
ancient Egypt, China, and India.
At Camelot, we use Color Therapy mainly to support
other modalities. In your session, the therapist
can provide you with some Color Therapy tips specific
to you and your health. The qualities of the
different colors and their connection to nutrition,
meditation, and well-being can be easily learned
and incorporated into your life to enhance health
and ultimately improve quality of life. The simplicity
and impact of the technique make it a wonderful
technique to learn.
